Maybe this:
Iād Like this too. Thanks for considering!
Lol guys the obsidian team has been working on a single feature for months now with no visible progress do you really think theyāre going to get around to this? Within the past 12 months they have basically released nothing other than a couple of mobile improvements, a couple paid features, and a browser plugin. (We donāt even have a reasonable way to organize notes yet. I guess thatās what the new āBasesā dataview thing is supposed to turn into. Letās just hope it doesnāt require a degree in computer engineering to write the queries.)
It would be great to be able to tag canvas files like regular notes, but based on the excruciatingly slow pace of development, Iām not holding my breath.
This feature much more likely to come in the form of a plugin.
In fact given what Iāve seen in the past several years, I would never submit a new feature request as it is likely to be fruitless (or take years to develop) and would instead focus 100% of my efforts on developing a plugin. I do believe this is by design as they would prefer regular income from service subscriptions like sync instead of being on the hook for actually improving the software.
Advanced Canvas has this feature.
I agree. They should lower the price.
I would add my vote here as well!
With the introduction of āBasesā, my Canvases always gets missed because i canāt add any properties to them for indexing.
+1, would love to have properties for a canvas, then be able to add properties to a canvas in bases
+1 for this! Was searching all over to see if there was a way to add canvas to bases, but so far nothing. Being able to add properties (which then are used in bases) with tags could be a life saver for me. I want to make a bases overview with the multiple canvas files I have, but so far no good.
+1. Having properties on canvases would make them much more usable with Obsidian Bases.
+1 for this. Are there any plans to implement?
Hopefully the property and tag can even extend further beyond to whatever file format we throw into obsidian vault, PDF, ebook, audio record, image, media.. etc. Given the base that is so powerful at current state, this turns base into amazing library management for any file and attachment.
I would love this to happen, I take notes just with canvas files pasting svgs, organizing them in bases, itās quite limited and painful taks to do without this feature.
