I heavily rely on frontmatter for organizing in Obsidian - and that way linking and finding notes. Some sort of YAML implementation seems essential for canvases to fit into the wider system.

Not sure that Obsidian team read all requests features (they are so numerous) but being able to add properties and tags to a canvas would be very useful !

Do I understand correctly that if this is implemented, I will be able to reference canvas elements? For example, how can I link to a note - [[Note^t4yd73|Link to the title of the note]]?

This FR has nothing to do with linking to elements within a canvas.
