Calendar widget doesn't recognise datetime value in front-matter after writing seconds

Steps to reproduce

  1. In the Sandbox vault, add a property typed date/time with value 2026-08-28T09:30.
  2. Click the calendar icon and pick a new time (say 9:35 am).

Expected result

Value saved as 2026-08-28T09:35, picker still available.

Actual result

Value saved as 2026-08-28T09:35:00. The property then displays as plain text with no calendar icon. Manually deleting :00 restores the picker.

Additional information

Reproduces in Restricted mode and in the Sandbox vault, on a fresh 1.13.7 installer. Related feature request on seconds support: Date & time properties should be able to edit seconds , but this different: the calendar date-time picker writes a value that it then no longer interprets as a date-time. Also related to Date & time property type doesn't display or edit seconds but again distinct.

ok, I understand.

this partially happens because the property type is autodetected (incorrectly)
If you set it to be a date, it works.

Interesting, thank you. Am I right in thinking that setting the type to date is a manual process (I have been creating these fields using Templater and have a lot of them now, so it’d be great not to have to go back and manually set them all)

Actually, I see the associate is based on the field name throughout the value not just note by note, so this does solve my problem. Thanks again!
