Today there are dozens of commercial products a la Notion and a few more open source solutions, but none of them can do Asciidoc. The year 2025 will come with a complete lack of Asciidoc support. This is very unfortunate. Personally, I am ready to migrate immediately to the first such tool…

Markdown tables are of very basic functionality and suitable for email conversations only. AsciiDoc would enrich it where advanced tables are needed.

I’ll add a voice to support this. Maybe it needs to be a plug-in that implements as a secondary rendering option or whatever, but it’s an evolution to be considered. Markdown has always been the “first”, but not better. Maybe it’s time to start looking at Obsidian being capable of rendering .adoc
