Use case or problem

It would be helpful to be able to comment on specific words.
It would help to keep spontaneous thoughts while focusing on writing your sentences.

Proposed solution

a second column next to the main text would list the comments.
If the comment is selected it unfolds.

I would probably use this as well, although footnotes do well for me for this purpose for the present.
