Use case or problem
It would be great to be able to use a canvas as a daily note.
Proposed solution
When the template file is a canvas, the newly-created daily note file should be a canvas as well, with the date as the title.
It would also be nice if the settings for the daily note core plugin simply provided the option of choosing between creating a markdown file, creating a canvas, or using a custom template file, to make things just a tad smoother. But this isn’t necessary for the core functionality.
Current workaround (optional)
This response to a plugin idea post features a workaround that relies on having a canvas with filename {{date}}.canvas embedded in the template note. However, this results in two files (the daily note itself and the resulting canvas), which is cluttered, and requires an extra click.
