I known midle-click to paste is a feature,
but some situation it’s accident.

Steps to reproduce

A. open a file tab, and a new-tab (blank tab)
middle-click on new tab tab area
the new tab is closed, but accident paste to the rest tab.

B. open a file with link,
middle-click the link,
the link is opened in browser, but accident paste to the file content.

This behavior can silently corrupt the content of the document,
It’s a bit dangerous.

how about
at least provide a way to disable middle-click paste ?

I can reproduce both of those issues.

I would very much prefer to have middle-click paste working (like it does in all other apps) rather than disabling it, but this bug is indeed very problematic. It can paste garbage into a document at the very moment you are hiding the document by opening a link in a new tab, so you might not notice the garbage until much later on.

My expectations:

  1. Middle-click paste should not trigger when clicking anywhere outside of an editor (like when closing a tab with middle-click).
  2. Middle-click paste should not trigger when clicking an interactive element inside an editor (like when opening a link in a new tab with middle-click).

This should be fixed in 1.1.13.
