In Preview mode Wikilink image embeds are wrapped in a <span> element whereas Markdown images are not.
For consistency and extensibility, making remote images follow the same convention would be useful.
For example, this would enable snippets like Image grids to work for remote images.
At present, this issue causes Minimal’s Image Grids feature to only be used for wiki-links syntax (like ![[xxx.jpg]] ), while Markdown syntax (like  ） is invalid.
I’m not a technical person, so I don’t clear the technical details, hope Obsidian developers can consider how to solve it. Thanks!
