Working daily notes calendar?

Hello,

I’ve got a daily note structure to be like TODOs/2025/04/27 (daily directory = TODOs, date format = YYYY/MM/DD), and no popular calendar plugins are working (the reason is that most of them are based on the flawed obsidian-daily-notes-interface library, doh!).

Is there a calendar plugin capable of working with such a file structure?

Thank you.

P.S. Restructuring 6 years of TODOs is not an option.

Have you tried Journals? I just quickly tested and I was able to create new note with folder structures TODOs/2025/04/27 with it.

And exactly what do you want out of the calendar?

Looks pretty interesting, although doing separate formatting is not the goal but definitely an option.

After all, a dirty hack has been made to obsidian-calendar-plugin that fixes the issue at hand. More details here: Day opens in wrong YEAR · Issue #351 · liamcain/obsidian-calendar-plugin · GitHub

I might have misinterpreted your original question but what do you mean by separate formatting?

In case, I did not explain clearly the Journal plugin has built in calendar module. So all I had to do is specify your daily journal format structure just like we do in core daily note plugin. Otherwise, there isn’t any other special formatting except using/integrating daily notes with journal plugin will add its own front matter items.

I mean extra doc props it adds on top of the document like journal and journal-date.

Ah got it. Yes. in that situation, you are correct. It does add the extra properties, and I can see that is something some don’t like.
