Zotero -> zotfile -> mdnotes -> obsidian -> dataview Workflow

Does anyone have any useful tips for optimizing a workflow for extracting notes & highlights from PDFs?

The post referenced above utilizes Zotfile and Mdnotes to extract highlighted notes from PDFs in Zotero and put them into Obsidian. I like the method but find it difficult for longer PDFs such as textbooks.

If I have a longer PDF and would like to extract notes by section or date, is that possible? Or does anyone have any other recommendations for a Textbook → Obsidian note-taking workflow?
