Why these boxes around terms used as tags?

Things I have tried

I have been away from Obsidian for a while. This is not anything I encountered previously. I am not certain how they got created. Or what use they might have.

Hi @ericweir , I guess you must have started a search on the page with Ctrl-F. When searching for a term, Obsidian highlights the term on the page.

To remove the highlighing, click the little “x” to the right of the search bar.

Thanks. Probably initiated search, but not sure how. This was done from my iPad. I’ll check to see how to remove the word from the search function there.
