Why do my bulleted lists turn to dashes after a few indents?

I’m trying to created a bulleted list with a few indents, but whenever I try to do that, the circles turn into dashes. Is there any way to prevent this?

Make sure all the indentations are the same. If you have some with an extra space, or a missing space it might explain it.

Otherwise, I think you would need to show us an example.

Lists need to start less than 4 spaces from the line’s start, and each sublist needs to be indented only once more than its parent item (1 indent is 1 tab or 4 spaces). Too much indentation turns it into a code block.
