Where is the promised option to disable automatic list numbering?

There is such a topic:

It says that a function to disable it has already been implemented, but in my Obsidian v.1.11.7 (both on Windows and Mac) this option is not available.

I constantly struggle with the fact that I can’t insert pictures, code, or additional comments, because the list will start from the first number.

Obsidian stubbornly ignores my numbers. I often want to start from scratch, for example.

  1. Disable numbering of list
  2. Other

Or I want to do the opposite, just continue the list further:

  1. This is the next line
Next I paste the code to copy

  2. This is a new item.

How can I implement this? Why is this possible in a regular text file, but still not implemented here, although they promised that they would add the function to version 1.8.8

Go in the settings, editor, and disable “smart lists”

Thank you, I was extremely surprised. I use the Russian interface and in the Russian version this item also appears, but it is called completely differently:

Indentations for lists: Automatically adds indents and tags for lists.

In any case, thanks for the answer. And localizers need to somehow translate the settings items more clearly.

I turned off this option and my behavior did not change. But I remember that I once installed a third-party plugin to sort the list. I decided to disable this plugin and I got everything I wanted. Thanks to those who did not leave me in trouble and helped. God bless you, friends.

p.s. the plugin that was interfering and which I disabled is called: Outliner
