When selecting text on android mobile, selected text is not highlighted

Steps to reproduce

After following the troubleshooting, on Android Mobile app, when I select some text to cut/copy, the selected text background is transparent and I can not know what was selected.

Anyway, when I select text is is copied to the clipboard for further use

To be able what text I have selected

Actual result

Text is selected, but can not see what text was selected, since there is no highlight

I am on android 14 and I can’t reproduce this. It would be interesting to understand what is special about your system.

  • Are you using some color filter that makes the cursor hard to see?
  • Which virtual keyboard are you using? GBoard?
  • In which devices exactly does this happen?

I can confirm this also. Using Gboard,system is ColorOS 14.0.0.232 which is based on Android 14.No color filters used.

Can also confirm.
Pixel 7 pro, gboard, Android 14 with latest updates
The only “filter” would be Night Light, but changing that doesn’t affect things.

Same issue is presenting in 2 of my devices:
Mobile: OnePlus 11 Android version Oxygen OS 14
Tablet: OnePlus Pad Android version Oxygen OS 13

Obsidian is the only app that is presenting this issue.

It really makes it very difficult to select text.

Attempts to solve:
– I tried using different themes, as well as the default one.
– I have tried to use a different vault, with the same effects
– I disabled community plugins and did not solve this

Could be that there is a CSS that controls this selected text highlighting??

It looks like the highlighting background is ‘like’ transparent…

Please help!

I am Android 14 on a pixel and it doesn’t happen.

Are you using Google board as a keyboard?
Is oppo running android or some fork like Huawei?

Which version of android webview is running on your phone?

In my case,I’m using Gboard,the system ColorOS is sort of fork system of Android like Huawei,and the webview Version is 121.0.6167.18

And same as spenhos ,obsidian is the only app that has this issue.

II switched the theme from Minimal (this is a third party theme) to the Default theme and the problem went away.
