My Dino MacBook Air only goes up to OS X 10.15 Catalina. The latest version of Obsidian (1.8.4) requires OS X 11. I’m currently on Obsidian 1.6.5. What’s the highest version I can go?

Nor the post or github reference the OS requirement changes.
I’m currently on macOS Catalina, 10.15.7. I’m running the 1.7.7 installer of Obsidian, and I (by accident ) allowed Obsidian itself to upgrade to 1.8.4. I’ve not experienced a lot of fatal errors yet, but I do believe I need to downgrade to 1.7.7 for both versions.
On the other hand, due to another experiment in my local setup, I’ve also installed Docker (ver 4.15.0 (93002)), and within that I’m running a container based upon obsidian - LinuxServer.io, and it should happily run any newer version.
Hi.
Just checked and 1.7.7 is last version that can be installed on my old MacBook with Catalina. (maybe it can updates to newer versions, but i don’t check it because i don’t need it)
Here you can find this version (just remove spaces) - github .com/ obsidianmd/ obsidian-releases/ releases
It’s correct that the 1.7.7 installer is the last allowed to install, but there are options on what to do besides sticking to that installer version. See thread below:
