What happens if LiveSync plugin cannot connect to the CouchDB server (for example outside home network)

What I’m trying to do

I would like to switch from iCloud sync to LiveSync. Before I take the plunge, I would like to understand how LiveSync on IOS behaves when I am outside my home network and therefor without access to my NAS.

Will I be able to use Obsidian and will LiveSync re-synch the moment my device has returned to the home network?

I don’t want to open my router to allow external access to my NAS.

Things I have tried

I have installed portainer and couchDB on my NAS.
