Web viewer security/passwords

What I’m trying to know

The web viewer seems great and I want to use it. However, before I start entering passwords into the web viewer or viewing sensitive data, where is the browser data stored, are the passwords encrypted? Is it just using a chromium instance somewhere? I can’t find any documentation on the web view, any related files in the vault or in the install location, or questions on the forum related to this topic.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I have the same question. This will be a common enough question that I strongly feel there should be an explanation in the Core Plugin > Web Viewer settings to give users peace of mind.

As a very late reply, and this should not be considered all-inclusive, here is our first stance and recommendation right now for logging into things with web viewer: Web viewer - Obsidian Help

We’ll probably add more to that page later and as we go, but there you have it to start.

Thank you! The documentation looks good, and it explained what I wanted to know.
