I use the keyboard considerably more than I use my mouse in one of the recent updates there was visibility over which vault you were in with ability to open the vault from this popup
Proposed solution
my proposed solution (if it allready exisits apologies i have looked but unable to locate) would be to able to access that drop down via command pallete shortcuts instead of having to manually open and then further functionality would be able to swtich between vaults e.g. close one and open another in situe
