Using markdown and html

Things I have tried

I am not familiar with html code, at all.

I am using the Bible References Plugin downloaded from GitHub.

Here is what the code snippet for one chapter looks like

What I’m trying to do

I am trying to after the first paragraph insert an obsidian link or a footnote etc. This is to link my bible study notes, and variations between bible translations etc together.

I attempted to do this but when rendered the links are not valid. Any help would be appreciated

So the only way I could get this to work would be to hit enter twice after the

add my md link and then enter before the next

Anyway to do this without the extra spaces or to tell obsidian to end the html and start the md
