Using Links in Text Properties

What I’m trying to do

I have author links for my books and want to be able to have the links show up in Bases so that I can navigate to the book or author from there. In some cells this works fine, but in others, it limits me to one author. For the ones it works in, I get the following error:

If I accept the change, it limits me to one author, however, if I leave it alone, I can see them all. It will not let me upload screenshot but I am getting the incorrect type error. It says it expecting text.

The ones that have the “incorrect type” are the ones with an “x” after the name. The ones that I accidentally changed do not have the x and will not take any correction in either bases or the actual note properties.

Any help would be appreciated. I am really liking bases and this is a great use case for me.

To show all of the clickable links, author does need to be a list:

So you took the right step in changing the type to list. (Remember to have a backup before mass editing anything.)

If you then got a warning (that you weren’t getting before) about expecting text, that sounds like your base has a filter related to author that relies on text.

You could share your filters here for help identifying which one(s), or just remove all filters that have to do with author. After you’ve changed author to a list, you could use the Simple filter builder to re-add them; that way you’ll have a better chance of building a filter for the right type.
