User defined file extensions

Request: Please allow for user-defined file extensions and custom markdown interpreters based on file extension ( via plug-in).

My note system consists of: .txt, .fountain, .md, .markdown, and .taskpaper files. They’re all plaintext, but different file extensions allow for fine-tuned selection, file globing, and syntax interpretation. It’s another high-level organizational slice through my data.

Obsidian is already an incredibly strong entry into the personal knowledge management arena and checks a lot of boxes for me. Looking forward to watching its development. Thank you for considering.

I have the same exact request. I hope this is considered.

I often have XML files in my projects, which I could associate with a plugin, that then starts an XSL Transform and displays the result.
