Use asterisk for list format when pasting rich text

What I’m trying to do

I prefer to use an asterisk (*) instead of a hyphen (-) to format lists. When I paste text in a list, the default seems to be to use a hyphen. Is there a way to set the default symbol when creating list formatting?

Things I have tried

Searched through the settings menu, but couldn’t find anything

By default, no (tho it would be nice if it let you choose). The Linter plugin might offer something.
