URI "new" action doesn't create new note on Obsidian Android when closed

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to the URI “obsidian://new”, in a browser or other tool (such as a Tasker Browse URL action)

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes

Expected result

A new note should be created, named “Untitled”, in the default location configured for new notes, in the currently opened vault.

Actual result

The most recent note I had open is opened instead, and no new note is created.
EXCEPT in the case where Obsidian was already open recently (just minimized or active application switched to the browser), and not closed (by pressing Back twice, past the message “press back again to exit”).

Additional information

I had been using this URI action for a week or so, via a Tasker Browse URL action to create a new note instantly from a shortcut.
It seems to have stopped working with 1.8.3 or 1.8.4.
This does not appear to affect Obsidian Desktop.

I have also tried adding the “vault” and “name” parameters to the URI, which has not solved the issue (and was not previously necessary, anyway).

When Obsidian is already open (and so the URI action works as mentioned above) it happens pretty much instantly, but if Obsidian is closed, there is a few seconds delay.
Maybe the process of opening Obsidian is eating the URI action?

thanks. I can reproduce

I am hitting this issue too but with the obsidian://open... URI.

On Android, if the app cold starts, the URI does not work. But if the app was already open, the URI works and Obsidian opens the correct note.

I do not see this issue on macOS, cold starts of the app open the correct note.
