Unintuitive UI for setting up Sync on mobile app

Steps to reproduce

A number of users on Reddit (including myself) have found that the process to setup Obsidian Sync on the mobile app is unintuitive. Here is the Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ObsidianMD/comments/tcvt84/how_to_set_up_obsidian_sync_after_installing_the/

Expected result

At minimum these steps should be mentioned in a tutorial on the mobile app:

  • Create a new vault on your phone (its unintuitive that you need to create a new vault before you can copy down your vault in Obsidian Sync)
  • Open the vault
  • Go to settings
  • Go to Core Plug-ins
  • Enable Sync plugin (something should direct you to enabling the Sync plugin)
  • Now you will be able to enter your credentials and choose the vault you wish to sync.

Actual result

You need to know that you need to create a new vault and that you need to setup the Sync plugin.

we will add a page to cover this use case. Long term, we might change the workflow altogether.

A page was added and also a different workflow for adding a remote vault from the vault switcher was introduced.
