Unable to open files containing callouts

Returning to the office after the holidays just to find out that Obsidian fails to open any new or old file containing standard callouts. When I try to open the file I get the error message Failed to open "" . If I open the file in another text editor and removes the callout, I can open it again in Obsidian.

I have tonnes of plugins and CSS Snippets…just don’t have any idea where to start.

What I’m trying to do

Things I have tried

Tried but without success:

  • switch theme from Minimal to Default
  • turned off all CSS Snippets.

I had a similar problem (being unable to add callouts) weeks ago, and I need to turn off & on the plugin called the Callout menu. I’m not sure if it was causing a problem, but it helped me.

So maybe go through “callout” plugins and try to reset them.
