Ubuntu 20, snap package does not open URL link in default browser

Ubuntu 20 and 22, obsidian 1.5.12, snap package install
Assume your default browser is chrome
If you clink an URL inside your note, it will open with firefox.

This plugin try to solve the issue:

But it induce another bug:

External chrome opened is "isolated"

The .deb package does not have any of the above mentionned bug (plugin not even needed), link naturally open with the correct URL.

I suspect the issue is due to snap containerization layer

In the bug report template which you didn’t include:

For Linux, we only accept bug reports that are reproducible with our Appimage package under Gnome or KDE.

I just tested, bug is not present in the AppImage.
I think this bug is induced by the snap containerization.
Since snap package is officially distributed by obsidian (and not a community maintained one), there should be a way to report bug somewhere, right ?

What you are describing sounds like an issue down the stack, electron or more likely wayland or the gpu driver. You are most likely have to wait until the upstream issues are resolved. Also, let me remind you that: For Linux, we only accept bug reports that are reproducible with our Appimage package under Gnome or KDE. We do not have the manpower to test/support anything else.

I’m new to Obsidian. Switching over from Evernote, because they stopped working on their linux client. I installed Obsidian via Snap and had the same issue as Obsidian does not open links in the standard browser on ubuntu Obsidian always uses Firefoxe instead of the system default browser. This doesn’t not happen if you use AppImage or install via dpk. Don’t know if it’s a problem with snap in general or the way how the Obsidian snap was build.
