I made Simple Streams for a simple job: take notes that already exist in a vault and show the matching ones as a readable, updating feed inside another note. It is not meant to replace Dataview or Bases; it deliberately covers a narrower case with plain YAML and rendered note bodies.

1. A project page that shows recent work

Keep project notes in their normal folder. On the project’s home note, add:

```stream
folder: Projects/Website Redesign
sort: file.mtime desc
display: preview
limit: 8
```

This turns the page into a lightweight project feed. A new meeting note, decision, or scratch note appears after it is saved; nothing needs to be copied into a status page. It is useful when the context lives in note bodies and a table of titles or properties would make the page harder to read.

2. A reading log without a separate database

If book notes already carry `#book` and a `date` property, a reading page can be:

```stream
folder: Reading
tags: [book]
date-field: date
sort: date desc
group: month
display: preview
limit: 30
```

The stream remains a view, not a second store of data. Add a note to `Reading/`, tag it, and it appears in the log. The same notes can still be searched, linked, queried by other plugins, or organized however the vault already organizes them.

A few deliberate constraints: Simple Streams only reads Markdown notes; it never writes, creates, renames, or deletes them, and it makes no network requests. It works on desktop and mobile.

I’d value feedback on whether these feel like real use cases, and on the filters or display modes that would make them more useful.
