Turning line numbering on and off for different notes

Is it possible to create a new note without line numbering?
Why? Because I’ve created a new Vault folder for specifically learning Markdown language.

Seems silly, but I’m completely new at this whole Obsidian routine and have absolutely NO other computer learning for this…just a retired architect learning new things!

As far as I know, line numbers are global toggle, and not accessible through commands.

In other words, either you use line numbering, or you don’t. And you change this in Settings > Editor > Show line number, by toggling the switch.

It might be possible to turn line numbers on/off with a CSS snippet. I can’t help with the specifics, but the #appearance channel on Obsidian’s Discord probably can.

Once you have a snippet, you can add a cssclass field to any note’s metadata to target the class that applies the CSS.

(Or that might all be more work than it’s worth to you. :slightly_smiling_face:)

Will give it a look.
