Hi everyone,
I recently started exploring Obsidian more seriously and have been impressed by the ecosystem of community plugins for productivity and learning. One plugin I was particularly excited to use is Quiz Generator, as I’m trying to build a self-testing workflow directly from my notes and source materials.
However, I’ve been running into persistent issues and could use some guidance.
What I’m unsure about
-
Whether Quiz Generator expects a specific frontmatter format
-
Whether PDF annotation extraction produces incompatible Markdown structures
-
Whether Dataview queries or missing fields could be causing the error
-
Whether using Ollama instead of OpenAI requires additional configuration
-
Whether the issue is a known bug or a misuse of the plugin on my part
What I’m looking for
-
A step-by-step tutorial or example workflow for using Quiz Generator with PDFs
-
Insight into what typically causes this
forEacherror -
Advice on how to structure notes or metadata so Quiz Generator can parse them correctly
-
Confirmation on whether my plugin stack is compatible or needs adjustment
I’d be very grateful for any help, pointers, or even clarification on best practices. Thanks in advance for your time and for maintaining such a powerful tool ecosystem
What I’m trying to do
Quiz myself on four different PDF files
PDFs are annotated and tagged
Annotations are extracted into Markdown notes
Use Quiz Generator to generate quizzes from those notesolution. →
Things I have tried
Confirmed all plugins are up to date, Restarted Obsidian after each major change. Verified Ollama is running and reachable locally, Verified that extracted notes are valid .md files and open normally in Obsidian
