Transparent pane

Use case or problem

When you want one of your center panes to allow you to see through to an application/desktop behind Obsidian. For example you are working on a design in 3D or paint application, and want to layer Obsidian on top to take some notes.

Proposed solution

If there was a transparent pane mode, accessible via 3 dot menu or hotkey, being able to see through an Obsidian pane while keeping side panes would be possible. It would also allow you to hide side panes further revealing the desktop/application behind Obsidian.

Current workaround (optional)

Split applications and work side by side.

Thanks.

There is a Tool for Transparency of Windows for Windows.

  • SmartsystemMenu
  • just right click the titlebar in Windows
  • it has many other Features aswell (for example click through a transparent window into the Windows behind the transparent one (its a bit buggy tho))
  • Aswell as Hotkey
