Toggle Ribbon

I have a simple noob use question. I am somehow inadvertently deactivating the Ribbon both in Reading and Edit view. I am not intentionally collapsing eith the right or left sidebars. It doesn’t seem to matter whether I am opening or working in a file.

What I’m trying to do

I want to have the Ribbon always showing or be able to toggle it on or off.

Things I have tried

I cannot find a core or community plugin setting that activates nor a command palette entry. My workaround is to relaunch Obsidian which always works until I do whatever hides it again. I have been though all the Settings seeking a switch I should enable/disable that is causing this. I am on macOS Sonoma and get the same behavior on desktop and laptop with 1.5.12 Obsidian.

From Obsidian v1.6 on, there’s a core Toggle Ribbon command that can be assigned a hotkey. So, there’s hope!

If you’ve ruled out plugins (it still happens in Restricted mode), the only other thing I can think of is a theme. Some themes have the ribbon hidden by default.

If you aren’t switching themes though, it seems odd that it’s vanishing and reappearing randomly.

Excellent solution with toggle ribbon and hotkey. I still don’t know what makes it disappear, but I can move on. :}
