Base View Plugin Pre-Release: Time & Line (Beta)
A set of Gantt Chart and Timeline Views for Obsidian Bases.
(BCE and Fuzzy Date Support)
What it Does
Time & Line adds two visual views to Obsidian Bases: a date-driven Timeline View and an order-driven Sequence View. Together they let you visualize, plan, and interact with your notes as timelines, Gantt charts, process flows, and ranked sequences, all without leaving your vault.
Both views were inspired by Aeon Timeline as much as Notion’s timeline features, attempting to implement the best of both: Aeon’s deep temporal modeling (BCE dates, fuzzy date ranges, measurement tools, dependency logic) combined with Notion’s clean inline property display, side tables, and drag-to-create simplicity.
(These plugin views are currently being used alongside another Base View plugin, Branches: A Set of Mind Map / Tree Views. The goal is to stay in Obsidian when writing, avoiding the need for external applications for simple visualizations. We’ll see.)

Installation (via BRAT)
- Install BRAT from Community Plugins if you haven’t already.
- Run command: BRAT: Add a beta plugin for testing

- Enable the plugin in Community Plugins.
Feedback
Would especially appreciate feedback on:
- How well it performs under pressure. It’s been tested using 1000 files at a time, and so far so good, but that was in a clean, controlled Obsidian Vault.
- How well it works and plays with other Obsidian plugins. Conflicts?
- Cross-platform testing: Works on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, reports from Windows and Linux users would be helpful.
Known Limitations
- Embedded Views can render poorly if the page width is too narrow.
- Still needs Accessibility Support
- Keyboard Support needs work
