I joined the forum for the single purpose of sharing how much I loved the Web Clipper.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m already saving pennies to buy the Catalyst membership - not because I want early access but because I want to show my support and appreciation for Obsidian. But the web clipper has pushed me over the edge. This thing is powerful. I highly recommend you take a minute to understand how it works, especially the highlight feature.
The highlight feature interacts with the DOM in a very practical way - it lets you use a ‘highlighter’ like mouse experience to highlight specific words, phrases, or entire blocks / paragraphs in single clicks, and then push those highlights right into converted md in obsidian.
A suggested workflow is highlighting critical or quote-worthy items into Obsidian to work with later. Or perhaps you have been browsing all day, keeping tabs open knowing you want to read that thing or write about it eventually. Use the web clipper to keep track of this.
I’d suggest having a look at it. I’m using it on Firefox and it has changed my life in just a few hours, let alone days and weeks of use. Have a look.
and since this is my first post to Obsidian community let me just say: Obsidian is one of the finest pieces of software I have ever seen, and in terms of PKM it is everything I could have ever wanted. If development stopped today, I’d be happy… and yet every day, it improves!
