Over the past six months or so, I keep trying Obsidian, then going elsewhere, then coming back. Now I may be here to stay, as I gave Canvas a shot. I had experimented with several canvas-style apps (Heptabase, Tinderbox, a couple of lesser-known ones), but when I finally returned to Obsidian, I found that Obsidian’s implementation is nearly as good as, and in a few ways better than, what these other apps can do. I especially like it that all my many links, external as well as internal, are preserved when I move notes onto a canvas. With the other canvas-style apps, I retained some links but lost others.
