Template Plugin Date Object Does Not Show Proper Date

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Sandbox Vault
  2. Enable core plugin template
  3. Type in custom date object (M/D/YYYY used in demonstration)
  4. Create template with a date property using {{date}}
  5. Add template to note

This is not a bug. The format in which dates are saved in properties/YAML is chosen by us and fixed. The way it is displayed follows OS-settings.

In that case then the issue is different because in the Template core plugin settings, it gives me the option to set a custom format and gives me a preview of what the date would look like.

I see your point. I then suggest a change in how this setting is used. Since you can’t have custom set date/time format in properties, then the properties field should ignore it, and instead use the default one.

We have no awareness that you are generating a property with that template.
