Tasks plugin - DD-MM-YYYY format?

I want the tasks plugin, when checking a completed task, to link back to that days daily note. However, it seems to only work in YYYY-MM-DD format? How can I change it to the one I am using, and have it wrap it in [[ ]]?

There is a feature request on the Obsidian Tasks repository for this very thing. Give it a thumbs up over there to add your vote to it.
