I noticed that when I set a tag in the new properties UI it will not work for grouping in the graph view.
For example:
When I give a note a tag manually at the beginning of the document (e.g. #project) I can then in the graph view make a new group called #project, which then shows all tagged notes in the same color.
When I set the tag in the properties UI as a property (even when it indicates that I use an already existing tag) and use this tag as a group in the graph view, it does not add this note to the group. (Not showing it in the group color and in the graph view search)
Are property tags and the “normal” tags different things? (Even when I can choose to use existing tags)
Or is this just a bug of the graph view?
I checked an its displayed like this, when I use the properties UI (I mean the properties which now automatically appears when you type in the three dashes - - -)
---
tags:
- Item
---
In the other format, just putting #item on top without the YAML dashes, so the tag is shown in a blue pill on top, is not shown differently in source mode. (it just stays a blue pill)
This is what I see in my Graph view with the Tags toggle on (the green dot) and a group of notes with the #Item tag (red group and only one note in this case):
okay, I tried it again today and it works!
I think my mistake was me typing “#item” in the properties tag UI instead of just “item”.
(the hashtag is automatically set, because it is already defined as a tag!)
