Tags - how do i group them into nested?

I want to organize my tags into categories, i.e. implement nested tags. In practical terms, How do i do this? Do i have to go to each instance of a tag and replace it?

Try the Tag Wrangler plugin. It will allow you to rename all instances of a tag at the same time.
