Table Autocomplete Nonfunctional after latest update

What I’m trying to do

Autocomplete a table in markdown using the enter key.

Before the update, I would type the following:

| col 1 | col 2 |

then after pressing enter it would create the following:

| col 1 | col 2 |
| ----- | ----- |
|     |     |

and allows me to use tab to navigate between the columns and enter to navigate between rows.

Things I have tried

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the advanced tables plugin. Also searched through settings but was unable to find a setting which would revert this.

While the new update is nice, I prefer to edit tables in markdown mode. Even when converting to source mode I can no longer use tab and enter to navigate between rows and columns.
