Short version: Are there plugins or best practices for having similar settings across a collection of vaults?
What I’m trying to do
I’d like to keep settings similar across my different vaults. (on the same computer - this is not a sync across devices problem)
I have many vaults. They each have different settings (especially hotkeys). Some of this is intentional (different vaults use different plugins), but often its annoying (I’ve forgotten which things to copy over) and I make mistakes (so I get inconsistencies), …
I could copy over the appropriate files manually. But I’d prefer something that is a little more fine-grained control.
Is there a notion of “global” settings? (rather than just per-vault settings)
And if so, how can I control what is global (for all vaults) vs. vault-specific?
I’d like to start with simple things (like hotkeys) - but deeper settings would be interesting as well.
Things I have tried
My current solution is to manually try to set things. Sometimes when I make a new vault I copy over settings files, but I prefer to “rebuild” the settings so that the choices are intentional (I’m not dragging legacy stuff along).
Looking for help with synchronization leads me to things around data synchronization between devices (which is useful, but a separate issue).
