Sync log shows content being pushed and downloaded while Sync status is "Paused"

Did you read and follow the Troubleshooting Guide? Yes

Steps to reproduce

  1. On Android, open Settings > Sync. Confirm Sync status shows “Obsidian Sync is currently paused” (Resume button visible).
  2. Open the Sync log (Settings > Sync > Activity log > View) while still paused.
  3. Watch for new log entries appearing without manually resuming.

Expected result

While paused, no new content should be pushed to or pulled from the server. Connecting only (if at all) to check status shouldn’t move file content.

Actual result

Sync log entries from while the status screen showed “Paused” include actual content transfer, not just a connection check, for example:

Connecting to server
Connection successful. Detecting changes...
Server pushed [Mac.local] Staging/New Notes/Assets/Pasted image ....png
Server pushed [Mac.local] Logs/Jrn/2026-09-09 Wed.md
Server pushed [Mac.local] Staging/Readwise/Articles/....md

This was seen across two separate log snapshots a few minutes apart, both while the Sync settings screen showed the paused state.

Environment

Obsidian version: 1.10.6 (256)
API version: v1.10.5
Operating system: Android 16 (Google Pixel 10 Pro)
Webview version: 151.0.7922.199

Additional information

Reported to support first (ticket #149971), with three screenshots: the Sync settings screen showing “Paused” with the Resume button, and two Sync log snapshots taken a few minutes apart showing the connection and push activity described above.

Support staff input

Not certain whether this is leftover activity from a sync session that started just before pausing, or genuinely new activity initiated while paused. The screenshots don’t establish the exact timing relative to when Pause was tapped. I can inconsistently repro and I am not sure if its UI lag, or something else.
