Surface plugin solutions on feature request threadS

When searching for a feature, users often find existing request threads, upvote, and move on — never knowing a plugin already solves their problem.

A simple “solved by plugin” tag or pinned reply linking to the relevant plugin would go a long way. Obsidian’s strength is its ecosystem; the forum should help people discover it.

My experience: I nearly submitted a duplicate blockquote-pasting request before stumbling on a passing mention of the Paste Mode plugin buried in one of several related threads. It solves the problem perfectly — but it was easy to miss

The forum has decent search capability. Modern LLMs (love them or hate them) are also able to search and reference the forum. There is also a community plugin search.

The functionality you’re describing sounds like special plugins for this forum that I don’t see being worth worrying about.

If you’re unsure, you can also start a Help thread and ask, rather than go straight to making a new FR.

I’m not sure that someone who operates this way is likely to notice a tag or pinned comment.

I do think there’s value in highlighting workarounds. I try to keep the Workarounds section updated in the feature requests that I’ve posted.
