Suggestion/question for quick dependency set up

Recently started using Tasks and loving the ability to hide tasks that are awaiting other tasks to complete. I’ve waited a lifetime for this and am now unblocked. Just wondering if there might be a quicker way to enter these, perhaps as an optional alternative to the current use of dependsOn.

I see these threads of dependent tasks as sub-projects and assign meaningful ids such as mytax or declutter with numbers appended in sequence for uniqueness, eg. mytax1, mytax2, mytax3, etc. That way the string identifies the sub-project when looking at the task list. So instead of adding the dependsOn field all I really need is to filter any due tasks, group them by the first text portion of the id, and only display the lowest number.

You’d have to follow a particular id naming scheme with only text for the label and only numbers for the sequence. But it would save entering all those dependsOns and, the way I’ve been doing it, copy pasting the previous task and laboriously editing ids.

Any thoughts?
