When I open Obsidian on my Android, I’m stuck on loading workspace. I can’t open the vault.
I tried uninstalling the program and open a folder as a vault without the .obsidian folder there, prompting the program to make a new folder with the workspace file. The program still gets stuck.
I tried deleting the one plugin I had too (dataview). I tried deleting only the workspace-json too. It is still loading.
The problem has been there for months. I can’t access Obsidian on my mobile simply. I’m not sure what to do.
Have you tried an empty vault?
Uninstalled and re-installed the app. Then created a new (empty) vault. That works. I can now use the app without my files. What might be the problem? I wonder if I’m on the outer end of the bell curve among most users. I have 25.000 files in my vault. Could that be the cause of the problem?
It shouldn’t be stuck on loading workspace. Maybe it’s a plugin.
Which phone do you have exactly?
Try to move your notes a little bit at a time.
How do I move my notes? They are all in place on my phone. I assume you mean moving some out of the vault and then moving some of them into the vault again a bunch at a time - is that it?
My phone is Fairphone 3+
You can use a file manager app in your phone and move a directory at a time
I tried moving all five or so folders out of the vault and then back in one at a time. It worked with the first folder and onwards until the last folder, which is also the largest folder. I’m now stuck again. I tried moving that large folder out and open Obsidian. But after it has been stuck, it seemed to be stuck again everytime I open the app. I have to uninstall and reinstall for it to work - with the first four or so folders. I still can’t open my whole vault. What might be the problem?
Some more data: My entire vault takes up around 55 mb data, most of it .md-files with a few images here and there (always below 1mb in size).
What files do you have inside folder 5, except markdown files?
Now move parts of folder 5, until you find the issue.
