I suspect like many here, I have been looking at Capacities. While I like a number of its features, I find the dogmatic lack of folders there (at least as an option) problematic, and this to me is one of the key features of Obsidian. On the other hand, there is one feature of Capacities that would be nice to see as a core in Obsidian - that is strong object types.
While one can now create a new note via a template, which is fine, this is not quite the same. So for example, I want to keep a note on every book I’ve read. I can initially set up a template with properties such as author, publication date, title, publisher, etc. and then use this to set up each note.
But suppose after making many notes on books, I decide I really needed to add metadata on the cost of the book. There is no way to do that without manually changing all the notes I’ve created. With a strong object type, when I create a new note it would have a property, “object_type”. There would be a corresponding Object_Type template (maybe need a different word) such that I could change/add/delete properties to that Object_Type template and the change would propogate to all notes of that type.
Not sure how much of a heavy lift this would be to program, but this would import one of the novel features of Capacities.
