Steps to reproduce

  1. turn on the spellchecker
  2. type the misspelled word
  3. spellckeck doesn’t work
  4. already restar the app

Nor does it work on iOS (15.7.8).

it works for me on android, you have to have to have enabled in both Obsidian and your keyboard.

You need to tap once on the document to have the keyboard appear (it the keyboard software that does the spellchecking)

Today I saw a fine red dotted line under a phrase for about 5 secs, then it was gone. (Also, there are no language setting on iOS and my spelling is better in English than in my native language…)

I have installed Gboard and enabled spellcheck on keyboard and system settings, but it didn’t work. I think maybe this issue is related to my Chinese android phone itself.

Update: I have found my Chinese Android phone’s spell check doesn’t work on many text-editing apps. So, I think Chinese Android phones are an exception.
