Specifying where to create a new note?

Hi there!
For the past few weeks I am writing my diary with Obsidian Daily note. It works fine and help things to be organized but my main problem is that you can’t create a new note automatically for the next day for writing some task or insight for tomorrow. I looked around and the only possible solution I could find was to use Templater plugin and write execute a script like this:

<< [[<% tp.date.now(“YYYY-MM-DD”, -1) %>]] | [[<% tp.date.now(“YYYY-MM-DD”, 1) %>]] >>

However, the main problem is that the above code creates a note for tomorrow in the root folder rather than my Daily Notes folder. Is there a way using Obsidian syntax or Templater plugin to specify where to create the new note?

there should not be any problem, if you are using daily notes plugin and templater together.
can’t understand your question fully.

These could help you

I mean when you link a file with [[ ]] if the file actually exist inside your vault, whenever you click on it the linked file going to open. However, if the file does not exist. obsidian creates a new file with the linked name you given. In my template for Daily Note a link for next day is automatically created but instead of Creating the new file inside my Diary Folder which my daily notes are, the file for next day is stored inside the root of the vault not the Diary folder.

Include the location you need to create your daily note in the code. For example I store my dailies in the folder Daily so the code would like:

<< [[Daily/<% tp.date.now(“YYYY-MM-DD”, -1) %>]] | [[Daily/<% tp.date.now(“YYYY-MM-DD”, 1) %>]] >>

If you instead use another folder like Diary you would do

<< [[Diary/<% tp.date.now(“YYYY-MM-DD”, -1) %>]] | [[Diary/<% tp.date.now(“YYYY-MM-DD”, 1) %>]] >>

makes sense?

The Calendar plugin, working with the Daily Notes core plugin or Periodic Notes community plugin, can create future notes in the correct place when you click on a future day.
