Sorting Bookmarks

Hi, I think there should be option to sort starred notes by:

  • name (a-z, z-a)
  • starred timed (recently starred - oldest starred)
  • time of creation (newest - oldest) or last edit (recently edited - last edited)

Also in file explorer starred notes should have star next to their title.

I like this idea. But, since we have the ability to create a custom sort, I would hope that “custom” would be one of the options, and that it would save the sort when custom is re-enabled.

I was thinking the same.
Custom sorting is my preference and having sort options may reduce that flexibility.

The bookmarks pane lacks any sorting options, which is surprising, given that duplicating the sorting options we have in the file explorer to the Bookmarks pane seems like a no-brainer:

I agree, a custom sort option absolutely needs to be in place for both though.

just chiming in here to say that I think the non-sorting nature of bookmarks is what makes it a useful tool for me.

if sorting were to be added, I assume it would irreversibly sort the items in bookmarks.json and have a “Warning: this will irreversibly sort your bookmarks, continue?” prompt.

Maybe it could be in a right click menu to be able to sort a specific subset. E.g. right click a single bookmark group that you want to sort by last modification time.
