I’ve looked for this issue and cannot see it. I have created files in a folder and labelled them 01, 02, 03…etc… they are not sorting by number. Is there any good reason for this? I have a feeling it was raised before but cannot find it anywhere.
On which platform are you working? And you’re sure you haven’t accidentally changed the sort order of your file explorer?
In the image below, I’ve clicked on the third icon with the lines and arrows which indicates the sort order:
Here you can see that I’ve chosen File name (A to Z) as my sort order, and using that it should sort by alphanumeric order, aka 02 should be after 01.

I am having what sounds like the same problem, but unlike the OP I’m not seeing the solution. Can anyone help me?
I have the sort order as “File name (A to Z)”, and have the items prepended with 1, 2, 3, 4, but they are showing in the order 2, 1, 3, 4.
