Some tags don’t function as tags

What I’m trying to do

Use tags: have them display as tags; have them function as tags, e.g., in the attached image none of the tags display as tags; three of the items entered as tags do not appear in the tags list.

Things I have tried

I searched on this topic in the Forum; othing came up. I searched on the web; one instance came up; it was due to mistagging of a video; not relevant.

I am familiar with what help says about the use of tags, but I reviewed it again; as expected, nothing related to this problem.

You need a space between the ( and the #.

I think you just need spaces around the #hashtags

( #intellect )
( #practice )

Edit: A space before the # is enough though  !
Thanks CawlinTeffid

Thanks.

Curious: is there a reason for that?

Tags have to start with #. It would be nice if Obsidian recognized that ( isn’t part of it, but I suspect that other apps and services that support hashtags might not do that, so the way Obsidian behaves now is likely to be more compatible.

Thanks. Obviously a matter about which I have to defer to the better judgment of the developers and the community. As I always do.

When I went to correct my entries I discovered why I was getting this result: I started the tagging inside parentheses instead of with a hashtag. Dunno why I did that. :slightly_frowning_face: If you start with a hashtag Obsidian adds the initial space to the tag.
